The Crimson scallop

I didn't want to do it...

I never wanted to do it...

Please believe me...


It was so many years ago... I was still a young Oshawott when Team Rocket captured me in the ball.

A dusk ball with the power to turn a Pokémon's heart.


I was with my mother that sunny day when the man cornered us.

My mother fled and the man captured me.


Inside the ball was painful- a torrent of darkness and unending pain- I felt as though I was being electrocuted and stabbed multiple times.

Eventually it stopped- but I felt as though I could not move my body, as though another entity had invaded it and was controlling me like a puppet while I watched.
I remember being made to battle- to kill other Pokémon as well- and inside I would cry out for the beings I had just slaughtered.

No...It wasn't me... it was something else... something else killed them...


And yet mine is the crimson scallop...


Anyways... many Pokémon were slaughtered by my unwilling hand- but soon I began to notice.
My will was becoming stronger- now and then I was able to move a part of my body.

And one day it happened- an Oshawott I recognized as my mother.

The man ordered my body to attack- but it didn't move.

How dare he.
How dare this man attempt to force me to kill my mother!

With that thought something inside of me snapped and I readied my scallop with a sick and twisted smile.

The man looked surprised and sent out all of his Pokémon- but they were no match.
In mere moments their corpses were strewn across the ground messily.

I stepped towards the man, my mother watching with horror as I readied my Scallop.


The man cried out as my scallop cut into his flesh like a knife into butter.
His blood spewed everywhere, and he soon fell to the ground.


With one last mighty chop of my scallop, I beheaded him.
A few moments after the light left his eyes I realized what I had done, and I stared at my Scallop with horror.



To this day that dark entity sleeps inside me, and any time I see a Pokémon in trouble my scallop becomes an even darker crimson.
